Johanna is posted! It's the first song under Audio. Enjoy!
Happy new year to everyone! Have you missed us during our five months off? Not to worry. We've got two new songs and will be returning to the stage at Ireland's 32 on Saturday, 2.4.06 for an acoustic performance.
The other act is Onya, Ireland's premier female singer-songwriter whose career has really taken off in the past year. We go on at 8:30pm and are hoping to alternate sets with Onya though we may end up doing one long set at 8:30. Your best bet to hear us: come early, get your "acoustic folk rock pop fiddlin' Americana singer-songwriter" fix and then you're free to head to your next party (or to bed, which actually may not be mutually exclusive... hmmmm).
Any day now, we'll also be posting one of the songs we recorded over a year ago but have just been too busy to mix down. It's one of our favorites so check back soon.
The dim, quiet, wood panel ambiance of the Ivy Room - lit in the corner with a series of olde tyme red, rear car lights - was the perfect setting in which to blast our amps full volume to keep up with Dave's drums. The crowd of friends and locals received our 8.13.05 return to electric power with something between interest and frenzy, which is just where we want them. Thanks to Mike Glendinning for having us open up for him.
In the lull that has followed our last show, we've added some photos of our past shows and hopefully made it easier to flip through them. Take a look!
Our 8.6.05 show at Ireland's 32 rocked! A lot of the Billy Riggs crowd stayed after to listen to us so thanks to them and to our friends who came.
If you missed that show, here's your chance to make it up. We got a last minute gig opening for Michael's friend Mike Glendinning at the Ivy Room in Albany. It's this coming Saturday, 8.13.05, at 10pm. We'll finally be able to play loud again, which we're looking forward to. Hope to see you there.
This Saturday, we return to Ireland's 32. We'll be acoustic and peppering our sets with some duets and trios again starting at 10pm. Up first at 8pm is Billy Riggs Band. And remember it would be a swell, belated birthday gift for Arwen if she got to see your pearly whites in the audience!
Our Anju gig in July was fun! The brick walls and tight space made it feel like a NY coffeeshop. Michelle's sudden, sassy, in-your-face spoken word tales amused many. We played acoustically -- which was different and cool -- between her two sets. Dave was sick, though, and it was getting late, so despite being the fearless rockers that we are, we only played one set instead of two. Check out our pix on the photos page.
In other news, we finished shooting the Johanna video. Kudos to Andrea, who played "Johanna," and Arwen, who are the stars of the video. Deb gets a two-scene cameo. The boys, well, they're not hot enough. :-) Thanks to Jim Sallee for creating this video on his own time and budget! We'll post it when it's done.
