Arwen was in Boston for a good portion of the summer in 2001 working on a theater production with her company, Erinys. While she was gone, I had plenty of time to just sit in front of the computer and record whatever came out. Most of these songs were created that way...within an hour or so I'd have an idea worked out and recorded, and than I'd usually add a second part within another hour. It was sort of like instant pudding, but with songs, and they weren't as tasty. Mmmmmmm, pudding. These were all recorded with a weird 1940's archtop acoustic guitar that I bought in Trenton, NJ for $75 that spring. It wasn't really playable when I bought it, but it just sounded so good. The store owner said something about it being unfixable, so I thought that it was probably time to learn how to do serious guitar repair.
It's still the main guitar I use for any acoustic recording, especially slide.
