Sunday on the Rocks was the first time that I was writing music solely to set up the mood of every scene in a play. There weren't that many scenes, so it didn't take a ridiculous amount of time, but I really tried to match the moods that the writing and directing and acting were all pointing toward. It's something that I really like to do, but I keep wondering now that I've done a bunch of theater composing...why don't more scenes call for Led Zeppelin? I blame the writers.
